ABOUT US
Meet Mehrnoosh (Nooshi) Zamani
Occupational Therapist, Founder and Clinical Director at NYT-OT
I’m Mehrnoosh—most families know me as Nooshi—and I am a pediatric occupational therapist with a lifelong commitment to helping children feel regulated, confident, and connected. I graduated in 2007 from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, and began my career working as an OT and clinical director, leading a team of 9–15 therapists. Those years laid the foundation for my clinical practice: strong collaboration, deep respect for families, and a belief in flexible, meaningful goals.
In 2015, I moved to Canada and immersed myself in roles that expanded my understanding of children’s needs across different settings. I worked as a child support worker in daycares and later as an Education Assistant in the West Vancouver School District. Supporting children in preschool, elementary, and high school gave me a rich perspective on learning, regulation, and inclusion. During this time, I completed the process to become a Canadian OT—and rediscovered how much I truly love this work.
My areas of expertise include:
Sensory regulation & co-regulation strategies
Toileting and potty training support
Feeding challenges and expanding food acceptance
Life skills, daily routines, and independence
Interoception and understanding body signals
Collaboration between home, school, and therapy teams
Accommodations and assistive technology to support learning
My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based, and grounded in helping each child feel safe in their body. I work closely with families to create practical, sustainable strategies that fit their real life—not a textbook.
When you come to my clinic, you’ll quickly understand why it’s called
Not Your Typical OT (NYT-OT).
We move, we play, we follow the child’s rhythm, and we build skills through connection. It feels like a dance—sometimes fast, sometimes slow—always collaborative.
My goal is simple:
To help every child feel seen, supported, and empowered in all the spaces they grow.
Meet Monique Sello
Occupational Therapy Assistant
I am Monique, an Occupational Therapy Assistant at NYT-OT, and I absolutely love working with children and their families. I bring a calm, creative, patient and playful approach to every session. I follow the child’s nervous system to make sure they feel safe, supported and understood.
With a strong foundation in Community Rehabilitation and Recreation Therapy, I support children with sensory regulation, motor planning, daily routines, life skills, feeding support, fine and gross motor skills, handwriting tasks, toileting plans and executive functioning. I work closely under Nooshi’s guidance and implement the plans she designs, making sure each child receives consistent, meaningful support across all their environments. I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where children feel confident to tackle new challenges and build independence.
A unique and exciting part of my work is supporting children in the water. I utilize the properties of the aquatic environment to provide adapted aquatic-based sessions that help with postural control, strength, motor planning, confidence, and sensory regulation. By moving through the water, children can build body awareness and physical confidence in a fun, sensory-rich setting that translates into better function on land.
I see kids in their homes, in the clinic, the pool, and in the community. I strive to help children build skills in a way that feels natural, fun and empowering for them.
Meet Ana Luisa Partida
Occupational Therapy Assistant
My name is Ana Luisa Partida Córdova, and I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant at NYT-OT. I am originally from Mexico and fluent in Spanish and English. I have six years of experience supporting children on the autism spectrum, including two years of direct learning and observation and four years providing 1:1 support in home, clinic, and community settings.
I take a relationship-based, play-focused, child-led approach and support sensory and emotional regulation, gross and fine motor skills, motor planning, and life-skills development. Under the occupational therapist’s guidance, I implement individualized OT plans with patience, creativity, and respect for each child’s sensory needs and unique pace.
I value open communication with families and love celebrating progress—big or small. I’m proud to be part of NYT-OT, where children feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow in their own way.
